The Performance of Self-curing Concrete Cast using Seawater

چکیده
Construction engineering in coastal areas is facing the challenge of a shortage fresh water for mixing and curing. The quality places an important role setting strength development concrete structures. This research aims to study feasibility using seawater cast curing plain non-structural uses. Samples were tap or then cured up testing ages. Concrete properties studied terms compressive, tensile, flexure, bond strengths at 7, 28, 56 days age. Test results showed that self-curing with PEG performed better hardened compared conventional concrete. compressive subsequently other related shown increase specimens mixed early ages 7 days, while definite decrease respective was observed more than 28 days. reduction increases exposure time, which may be due salt crystallization formation affecting gain.

Strength Characteristics of Self-curing Concrete
Today concrete is most widely used construction material due to its good compressive strength and durability. Depending upon the nature of work the cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate and water are mixed in specific proportions to produce plain concrete. Plain concrete needs congenial atmosphere by providing moisture for a minimum period of 28 days for good hydration and to attain desired ...

Today concrete is most generally utilized development material in the world due to its strength and sturdiness properties. To attain good strength, curing of concrete is important so we introduce the concept of self-curing concrete rather than immersion or sprinkle curing to avoid water scarcity. It was observed that water solvent polymers can be utilized as a self-curing agent, i.e. polyethyle...

cement is an essential ingredient in the concrete buildings. for production of cement considerable amount of fossil fuel and electrical energy is consumed. on the other hand for generating one tone of portland cement, nearly one ton of carbon dioxide is released. it shows that 7 percent of the total released carbon dioxide in the world relates to the cement industry. considering ecological issu...
